The first derby with full capacity in a couple of years and what a fantastic experience. This was my first derby at Åråsen Stadion, and I really had high expectations. The Lillestrøm – Vålerenga showdown has really heated up in recent years and is currently the biggest derby in Norway. Both Kanarifansen of Lillestrøm and Klanen of Vålerenga were really up for it and performed at their best! In the stands, the derby had everything. A good crowd on a cold November night, tifos and plenty of pyros. And both sets of supporters gave it all they had during the whole match!
On the pitch is was more like a war than a football match. Both sides wanted it a lot, but lacked some quality going forward. Chance were few and far between. And in the end it was probably a fair result that the derby ended with a point each at Åråsen Stadion. If you ever want to see just one match in Norway, this is the clash!
