Late in the season, I headed south to Rygge in Østfold for some Wednesday night football. Rygge is a small village just south of Moss. Mostly known for it’s not so very successful airport project. The local football club has lived a rather anonymous lower league life. But this season had been a highlight. Rygge was consistent through the season and ended up as winners of their 7. tier group. Promotion was secured and only one match remained of the season. It was time for the play-off for the 7. tier KM championship. The opponents were Trosvik IF, the winners of the other group.
It was freezing cold in the stand, but at the pitch the hosts still had one big performance left in their legs. Rygge dominated from start to finish and there was really never any doubt in this one. Totally deserved 5-1 winners in the end and a great finish to a wonderful season at Rygge Idrettspark.
