Fantastic European night at Aspmyra Stadion in Bodø. The hosts, Norwegian champions for last two seasons Bodø/Glimt, against the mighty AS Roma. A beautiful and cold spring day above the article circle, with everything set for drama. And drama was what we were going to get. I flew up from Oslo just for this match and arrived about four hours before kick-off. Always nice to visit the city I spent two years in my younger years when completing my master of economics at the university. And this trip was not to disappoint.
After some food and beers downtown, I headed for the stadium. The capacity of Aspmyra has been increased in recent weeks and the work was completed in time for this match. And even though there are some more regulations in European competitions regarding allowed capacity, the stadium saw a new record attendance at Aspmyra in modern time.
On the pitch it was a game of two halves. Roma dominated the first-half, but Bodø/Glimt turned it around after the break. And when Hugo Vetlesen headed home the 2-1 winner in the last minute, it was nothing less than Bodø/Glimt deserved. A great night at Aspmyra Stadion and a match that the home-crowd certainly will never forget
