The great Estadio Mestalla is situated centrally in the city of Valencia and in walking distance from the main streets. The stadium is old and worn down, but with a lot of charm and character. Several years ago, the work started to build the New Mestalla. But a lot of financial trouble has let to delay after delay and at the moment (feb. 2019) no one knows if it will ever be completed.
Walking into the gates of Mestalla really gives you a special feeling. This great club and stadium have experienced so many fantastic moments. Nowadays you have to feel a bit sorry for both the cub and the fans. The stadium is not in a very good condition and either is the team.
The match really lacked quality from both sides. Valencia wanted it the most, while the visitors from San Sebastian where quite happy with a point. Chances were few and a goalless draw was probably a fair reflection of the result.
If you ever get the chance to visit the great Estadio Mestalla, you should certainly grab it with both hands. This is a stadium that all football fans should check off on their bucket lists!
