The Estadio Santo Domingo is certainly a nice little stadium in Alcorcón, just south of the city center of Madrid. With a capacity of about 5.000, it is perfect sized for a club like AD Alcorcon. The stadium is an all-seater, with stands on all four ends. It is very compact. Wherever you sit and you are close to the pitch and guaranteed a great view of the pitch. The closest rival of Alcorcon is Leganes, which is located just a few kilometers east.
I went to Alcorcon for a second-tier derby against CF Fuenlabrada. The stadium was about half-full, but the atmosphere was quite nice. To be honest I didn’t know what to expect on a cold December evening, but I was positively surprised. A lot of credit has to be given to the away-supporters from Fuenlabrada. They showed up in good numbers and kept going throughout the match. On the pitch the match was more balanced. In the end both teams settled for a draw, which was probably a fair result. The likes of Alcorcon, Leganes, Getafe etc. are always nice places to add to your Madrid trip, even if your main match may be the giants Real or Atletico.
