Comment: A nice and warm summer night at Lervmyr Stadion in Grimstad. Still with the covid 19 limit of 200 in the stands, but with the brand-new floodlights in use for the first time. It was a big match for the home-supporters. The mighty Lillestrøm looking to secure a direct promotion back to the Eliteserien, following their relegation last season. While Jerv was looking to build on a promising start to the campaign. This was the first meeting ever between these to sides in league or cup.
The visitors went ahead early after some defensive mistakes by Jerv, only for the Argentine striker Pibe to put one back for the hosts. Jerv got more and more settled as the first-half progressed. After the break, Jerv started brightly and got the equalizer with a nice header after a corner. Both sides put in a lot of effort and the match could have gone either way. Lillestrøm went closest when they hit the post and the visitors also missed a sitter in the dying minutes. In the end Jerv looked the more happier side with the one point. It was a great night of football and nothing less than the first ever floodlights-match in Grimstad deserved. It ended a share of the points. Final result FK Jerv – Lillestrøm 2-2
