Great weather as I made my way to the city of Narvik. The city is the 3. largest in Nordland and the 7. largest in Northern-Norway. Most known for being a strategic important city during the WWII because of its ice-free harbor and the export of iron-ore from Sweden. But it is also home to the proud club FK Mjølner. In 1972, it was the first ever club from Northern-Norway to play in the Norwegian top division!
Narvik Stadion has one large stand, and you really get the feeling that this club has seen better days. The stand is worn down, but very characteristic of the past of Norwegian football. When I visited it was the first league-match of the season after a long covid break. On the pitch there were never any doubt- FK Mjølner dominated totally from start to finish and certainly won a deserved victory.
